Do any of you use the forums? I've literally been on this website since 2014, and I just checked them out for the first time a couple weeks ago (and I am intimidated). Just curious to see what people use the forums for, if they've made friends on them, if they think they're useful (I'm curious).

@bookgirlsmiles you're welcome! There's a topic for almost anything, so all you have to do is search for what you're looking for in that moment, or you could just choose a topic at random and let yourself fall down a rabbit hole :)

@bookgirlsmiles I'm rarely on the forums, but when I do go on there, it's mostly for writer advice. It seems that it's mostly writers (not people who only read) that hang out in the forums. We writers use them to get advice, find beta readers, ask for editing help, and share our (often creepy, definitely NOT related to actual murder) research. Though there are topics like the café where people just go to hang out & not talk about books for once in their lives. So yeah, you can make friends or use it to get help, but it seems to be mostly writers that use it (not that readers aren't welcome).

I guess I've been living under a rock because I just noticed that the Wattys are going to be TOTALLY different this year. I'm kinda excited but also you have to have a finished work of 50,000 words in order to submit, and Counting Crows is so so far from that. Let's see if I can finish Counting Crows before the submissions close in September (this is would be a miracle for me, seeing as I've had this project on my mind for two years already and I have like 6,000 words). Good luck to those of you hoping to compete this year!
