I have a question in the book best friends is Acosta your real last name or you just made it up and put it in the book

This society revolves around the need to have a significant other in our lives. this generation teaches us that we need to depend on others. This is invalid and conveys the wrong message to teenagers, like me. You don't need someone to be happy. You only need to make yourself happy. So for all you girls, letting your boyfriend (or girlfriend) dictate your emotions and be in control of your happiness, realize that you're destined for heartbreak.
