As a latina, seeing the movie Emilia Perez get 13 Oscar nominations made me laugh out loud. This is a joke right?

As a Latina, the fact that movie has so many nominations and other foreign films that represent Latin America and its history, such as “Society of snow", did not receive as much recognition, shows their ignorance when it comes to other cultures. Especially how in Emilia Perez they used topics like the disappearance of people in Mexico, with so much misinformation that it makes it look like a parody or mockery.

@-ilovehockeyboys- You’ve been a little misinformed on this. I’m an American and studied political science (not actually relevant, but just so I can convey that I do have an understanding of what I’m talking about). The ban only affects the company. Citizens definitely can’t be arrested or fined. Basically, any app store (Google, Apple, etc.) would be fined if they continued to allow TikTok to be downloaded or updated, but again, that doesn’t apply to the average American. Eventually, once more updates come out, the app will become useless or disappear completely.

i read somewhere that here in the US if you use a VPN to even access tiktok after it’s ban, you’ll get fined and maybe even arrested

@booksbyzizi yes, I have read that in countries where TikTok is banned, they do this by entering from the web with a VPN and it works!

i just thought of this were, like back in the Department of Mysteries sirius saw ara getting hit by the Cruciatus curse and he felt like he was back in Grimmauld place watching regululs get tortured for the first time knowing he couldn't do anything abt it . he felt like a failure again bc he couldn't protect either of them. idk just wanted to say this cuz it came to mind
