P.S. I just fell down a rabbit hole reading your gripes about comments. Highly entertaining for some reason. I donāt typically read comments on other peopleās stories but now I kinda want to just so I can share in your announce.

okay so thereās apparently a whole thing going on with ao3 lmfaoo (yall donāt understand what wattpad is saying didnāt they do this already!! REPEATEDLY IN YEARSSS) and my thingā¦..i donāt like reading fanfics in general so thatās why i donāt use it. iām also too lazy to search for original books or use the tagging system like iām sorry but idgaf that much. actually occasionally when i try, i ask for an invitation, idk how tf it comes to my email, never saw anything LMFAOO, thatās how much i never bothered to, unfortunately.) BUT i would never go ahead and read something that i hate and put comments about it?? like i would never criticize somebodyās work. on here, i generally comment just to analyze something a paragraph or line says or reply to other commenters (barely nowadays tbh). though, i do comment MY opinions on MY page. emphasis on: MY. i do it to rant or vent. itās just one of my little pet peeves. iām sure everyone has their own and THATS OKAY! just donāt put or push them on other ppl
bro okay so i decided to go into my library because idk, i needed something older to read and i donāt want to browse through the whole home page esp since itās infected with tons of ai. NOW mind you, i havenāt looked at my library in FOREVER. and i didnāt even sort it or add tons like i used to before. i would just read one single book now and then & since most are ongoing, i just keep up to date with them. lemme explain my history. i didnāt have any idea how to do anything during 2017-2018. i think i finally figured out how to do it during 2019-2020. i was super active on wattpad during it UNTIL 2021-2022. i stopped being as active and i didnāt care anymore LMFAOO. then i kinda slowly came back occasionally. i donāt think i would ever be at the same level as back then tbh but yeahā¦..ANYWAY, my library has TONS of books that i never bothered to sort or look through. what i would do is just add tons of books after what i was reading, either through recommendations or underneath the book cover, that kind of thing yk? i went through many phrases. and went back and forth too! so that meant i didnāt even bother to look at them that much or read them either! if i got bored of whatever trope i was reading, i would just jump to a different one. nowadays i also would get confused at what comments would be saying, i was like ummm i saw tons of that kind of thing when i was younger. GUESS WHAT!!! iām looking through my library, (iām not even done either!!) TONS OF BOOKS ARE GONE so fucking sad omfgggg. admittedly they werenāt even completed, they even had a few chapters too but it was AN ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE OMGGG. i knew before this, since three of my favorite books (they were detailed and completed tho!) were gone but i didnāt expect for others to be gone either, esp THAT MUCH. like bro what happened to the classic ones yk?? now nobody can look back on how it was like back then. yeah maybe it was cringy or had incorrect grammar BUT STILL! SUCH A TRAGEDY FR.
OMFG i donāt get why ppl hate on āpricklyā or rude characters!! LIKE BRO LOOK AT THEIR ACTIONS!!! they just show their love in other ways. WORDS DOESNT MATTER! ACTIONS OVER WORDS IMO! like omfg, i get that sometimes words can hurt esp if itās related to your insecurities but only when itās done on purpose like maliciously yk? if it wasnāt then it just means it was personal to me yk?? just ME. not other ppl. i also donāt get why they will bash them if they said something playfully or rudelyā¦.like thatās just how they are! ppl say YOU NEED TO TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM or NO DONT DO THAT! likeā¦..admittedly, the moments they show their love straight out, are the BESTTT, but the process is the best! ppl say just communicate! ummm noā¦.thatās how the process works! otherwise how can we get character development? idkkk, iām just tired of constantly seeing the comments hating on characters who arenāt even that bad!! maybe itās just me and how i grew up, like for ppl i love, their words can be snarky but thatās how they love me yk?? again, yes sometimes they can hurt me but i can differ between when itās MALICIOUS and when itās PERSONAL!! i think ppl have the MC mentality, where theyāre on their side all the time because thatās what theyāre reading.
i also get that they might be joking but some are notā¦..like they are entirely seriousā¦..broā¦.just relax!! it aināt that serious and again, iām just tired of constantly seeing something negative on what i thought was funny or matches their personality and i understand why! like i go oh understandable! then i look into the comments and theyāre bashingā¦ā¦
bro i deadass cannot stand the comments sm that i literally will have to turn them off first before reading so i can have my own perspective without getting irritated by the negativity or the obliviousness. like OH MY GOSHHH. even still when i turn them back on, i have to hold myself backā¦..
i do want to say one thing, ik itās entirely my own opinion & feelings. like trust me, itās not anything personal.
HOWEVER SADLY, the comments are NOT the same like back then. they were much more nuanced and had more patience. like they didnāt instantly assume on one line when the answer is LITERALLY A COUPLE LINES DOWN!!! if you finished the chapter first, you would get your answer?? i donāt understandā¦..itās also similar to having no patience for characters and their growth development, like they bash them without having actual reasons. for example if they said something negative randomly out of nowhere (ppl back then was like oh well thereās definitely a reason!! and we waitedā¦.) but now itās just like OH MY GOD THIS IS ALL A LIE. like bro?????? do you not see the subtext? never completely believe the narrator, ever heard of an unreliable narrator??? again, intent and impact isnāt the same. TRUST, whenever one of the characters did something terrible to the MC, we hated and bashed them!! like for example, if the character kept being negative, or did genuine terrible things for it, ofc, we would have been like ??? absolutely not!! stop!
& iām not talking about the enabler ones tho, like these cheating/pedo types, both back then & now, tho tbh theyāre much more now likeā¦ā¦have you seen the top 10?
(angsthappyending which is code for ACCEPTING CHEATING!!! & mafiadaddy, idk what to call it, grooming???)ā¦..like bro? itās disgusting af. i refuse to read these kinds of books. imo, no cheating PERIOD & the girl has to be at least 25 before dating an older man & they have to be at least under 50. i hate when the girl is 18-23 and the man is 28-49. itās lowk the same for others, like i donāt really mind the huge age gap but they better be 25 or have a pretty close age gap. for example, for the younger one, theyāre like 23 & the older one is 29, something like that. & THEY ALSO CANNOT KNOW EACH OTHER FROM BEFORE EITHER, LIKE IN CHILDHOOD/TEENS OR SUM, OR EVEN THROUGH FAMILY FRIENDS. I HATE THAT KIND OF THING OMFGGGG!!! that tells you how much itās in books. i literally cannot find any thatās appropriate and donāt you dare tell me that itās the point, that itās inappropriateā¦..my point is that if theyāre young, they need to have a close age gap & then you can do whatever the fuck you want when youāre over 25. idgaf if itās fictionā¦.you can take things from fiction into reality. ppl say they know better but umm yeah no, honey, have you heard of the study that says how your mind canāt see the difference between fiction and reality and thatās why you feel so strongly about it. crying and emphasizing with the characters etc, that sorta thing. (and a lot of the time, ppl who are reading can get kinks from itā¦.and decide to partake in it then, like why do i see comments that say oh i wish he was my DADDY irlā¦..like bro. idc if it was not meant to be taken seriouslyā¦.why would you make that comment thenā¦) the haunting of adeline movie is a major discourse rn tooā¦.
itās just super sad to see how ppl canāt understand subtext and have enough patience to see the growth development through. (obviously ik thereās a lot of minors on here and thereās a lot of discourse on how the literacy rate is nowadays so i do understand why butā¦.yeah just super sad tbh)
itās also really ironic because tons of books back then WERE REALLY EVIL & whenever i wanted to bash a certain character, most people would forgive themā¦.like absolutely notā¦..iām pretty happy that ppl wouldnāt accept that behavior nowadays too but now itās like for smaller things that are completely understandable, itās the same level of anger yk?? like bro noā¦itās not that bad.

LOOK AT THE ACTIONS!!! actions over words. period. i also get that sometimes words can hurt, but likeā¦.itās so obvious to me that theyāre protecting something! themselves or somebody else and i literally donāt blame them at all, & yet ppl still hate on themā¦..just because they said something hurtful. like okay in the moment i completely get hating on them but they assume something bad at that line and then later on, in that same chapter, find out that it wasnāt bad & they still hate them? i canāt LMFAO. itās WORDS!! look at their ACTIONS INSTEAD. (thereās a complete difference between intent and impact!!) another thing is that i absolutely agree that there should be more communication etc but sometimes thereās literally A REASON FOR NOT DOING IT OMFGGGG. be patient and just read the storyā¦..it makes it more interesting and enjoyable. sometimes there are just plain stupid books who make the miscommunication trope an absolute HELL & I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THAT!! but likeā¦for the books WHO LITERALLY EXPLAINED THE REASON, maybe they arenāt straightforward BUT you can read BETWEEN the lines, QUITE LITERALLY, thatās what it actually means. to read an amazing story, there are always subtle hints and itās so fun and surprising to see what happened at the end & to dissect them all the way throughout when rereading! iām just tired of constantly seeing ppl saying just communicate and hate on certain characters when that isnāt the point of the story. also idgaf if i keep saying the same thing over and over again. ik i can be a judgmental & rude bitch butā¦like COME ON.

why do ppl hate fwb stories sm?? i acc LOVE THEM!! its full of YEARNING, muah. istg, you all can probably tell that yearning is my most favorite part for all romantic books likeeee. i NEED to see it!! because otherwiseā¦..what is the point? and how can i see if you actually like/love them?? & also the character development omggg, i love the way they grow & heal from trauma. MUAHHH.
