¹ mitra is a very difficult being to get rid of. should you kill the host , the demon will merely move on to a different vessel. it is immortal in the way that it never truly dies. this is the reason why it was bound to the brothers.
² mitra , while both human and demon , struggles to retain its humanity. it is too far gone to remember much before becoming what it is today.
³ mitra bickers with the demon quite often despite the two of them working together.
⁴ mitra is stuck in the past. since he's taken on the ideals of the demon , his mindset has merged with it as well. because of this his mannerisms , way of speech , and clothes are all out dated.
⁵ while they technically share a name , ' mitra ' is usually the name that the vessel is regarded as. each vessel refers to the demon with respect. such as: master , my lord , sir , etc
MITRA is the name of an ancient deity. while mitra itself is not the original god , you could say he's a corrupted version of it. once the kind and harmonizing god — turned into this demonic creature. ( the name ' mitra ' is given to each body that hosts the demon. it is the title the demon goes by. )
MITRA represented friendship , harmony , and all that was important in keeping the order of humanity. mitra was a god of the sun and through this he gained cosmic power.
he was in charge of oaths ( the mitra of today manipulates them — tricks the people into vowing to pledge to something without knowing what the consequences may be )
in charge of contracts ( the mitra of today uses them to get its followers to sell away their souls )
and in charge of punishing those who violate them.
he possessed superhuman strength , durability , and immunity to disease and aging.
the mitra the people know of now — the sick and twisted one , uses the powers of the old mitra. the pure powers used by the evil. he uses the powers to heal in order to trick its followers. mitra is capable of healing the sick and raising the dead ( not permanently ) it can separate reality between both sides of life and death , can step between both. this means it can directly interact with the dead. it can touch and see them — can permanently kill them.
it WAS the god of law , justice , and protection. now , mitra is a horrid creature masquerading as a pure vessel.
he wasn't always a demon — even to this day , not completely one. the church he was the priest of was just a cover — there was nothing holy about it. the church was a cult — it had always been one.
it's family passed the demon down like an heirloom. the demon needed a host to live — needed someone to feed off of and do its bidding. they believed this demon to be their salvation. the demon had cured a plague eons before mitra had been gifted its presence. that is when their family started the church — when they started to repay their debt.
the demon promises to heal humans only to take their lives in the end. it's how the demon lives. he'll grant some miracles to spread word of its divinity and take even more lives than it saves. mitra cared at first , but his emotions grew distant with time.
the demon can't control their body , as much as the being would like to. the brainwashing mitra experienced as a child is what made him listen to begin with. as time continued , the demon's thoughts began to feel like his own.
then the winchester's came — they ruined a everything. they tore down the church that had stood for generations. they forced a binding on him — a fate worse than death. it was starting all over again. the cycle in which he had to listen to someone's commands. except this time , he wasn't the one in control of the body.
