I know barely anyone will see this but I feel like I have to do this and I can't do it anywhere else so here we are.

It is suicide awareness month and not only this month but every month, every single day we should check up on our friends and family, even people you aren't all that close with.

I lost a friend to suicide two days ago, I knew what was going on but I thought they were getting help, I thought they were going to be okay. We had known each other for years but were never the closest but I still cared about them a lot and I regret not trying to help more.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is it can be so unexpected that you have to learn to expect it, not matter how small it is, if you notice anything off ask about it, don't persist if they tell you everything is fine, but offer your support, tell them you are there is they need someone. If you know something is up go to them first, ask if they are getting help and make sure you check with them before going to anyone else, I know a lot of people recommend against that but from what I know about being suicidal, both my own and others experiences, that can make you want to rush into things. Ask them to go to someone together and offer your support in whatever way you can.

Please look out for the little signs, never push and offer your support.
