got the first look of Nico as Astrid and she is PERFECT, the costume and hair is PERFECT. She IS Astrid!! don’t give me that ‘it’s inaccurate’ bull, this is a live action movie remake of an animation about Vikings with American and Scottish accents flying DRAGONS, based on a book that never ONCE claimed historical accuracy. This is a fantasy world that has used Viking cultural references (that aren’t accurate) as a backdrop for world building. Same as when people use medieval back drops for fantasy stories like game of thrones. It’s not supposed to be friken historically accurate! Nor is it trying or claiming to be istg-

Astrid wasn’t even in the books AND THE COSTUMES AND PROPS AND DRAGONS AND EVERYTHING LOOKS SOOO GOOODDDDD!!!! I was weary of a live action and I didn’t know how I felt but I LOVE ITTTTT

@braekerofchains tbh, the animated movies stray far from the books. I would have loved an adaptation for the books instead of another one for the animated ones. But yeah, no arguments with the casting. <3

originally that was the plan, actually. when I first started writing Deja vu, I had no idea what the plot of nwh would be, how it would end. the end of Deja vu relied entirely on what would happen in the movie. but the og plan was for nina to d*e and it would be characteristic of the tragedy in spider-man stories/comics but then everyone fell in love with her so much (me included) that I changed my mind.
