Hello. I'm Brian Erick Benbinuto, a Secondary Education graduate from the University of Santo Tomas. Currently, I am pursuing master's in history in the same university. Actually, I started writing literary stuffs when I was around 13 years old, a second year high school student from the outskirts of Metro Manila. At that time, we're required (even today) to read Francisco Balagtas' epic poem Florante at Laura. That story inspired me to write poems, only two were the ones that survived the test of time. Then, I got to get aquainted with William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet because I got curious with the story, considered to be the greatest story ever told. Starting with Romeo and Juliet, I read many plays written by Shakespeare, my favorite would have been Othello (I really love tragedies more than comedies). Afterwards, I got to read also Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. It made me committed to read many novels like Hunger Games series, Harry Potter series, and Maze Runner series. These literary works, combined with my experience, influenced my poems. Last year, I posted my first published novel "Hacienda Felipe" inspired by international conflicts and status quo of the past administration. My current novel "The Enlightened Prince" was influenced by the life of Buddha, my life as a son of overprotective parents, and the French Revolution itself. That's all.
