YOU. how did you .. but, we all saw you DIE ! * calm down, okuyasu. maybe it was just a man that looked LIKE kira. he couldn't be alive, after all .. right ? *

/⠀⠀TRIGGER WARNING:⠀discussion of okuyasu's backstory ( ft. elements of verbal + physical abuse , death & PTSD. also contains spoilers for DIU. )
i've been rewatching DIU scenes in an attempt to get my muse back for okuyasu , & in the process of doing so , i have initiated okuyasu brain rot that i don't know how to stop. so , in exchange for me getting muse , y'all are about to get a post of me yelling about okuyasu.
okay so , i hate when people erase okuyasu's back story ++ character / character development in exchange for making him an idiot & an idiot only. yes , apart of okuyasu's character is being DUMB , something that is constantly made present throughout the part ( i'm not trying to say he's a genuis , because he's not. ) but , okuyasu is / WAY / more than just the comic relief or the idiot that trails the protagonist around. REMINDER , that okuyasu's childhood was anything but peachy keen. okuyasu's mother died when he was barely old enough to properly comprehend the situation. not only that , but he was as young as FOUR when his father began abusing him & keicho as the family financially struggled.
when he was only SEVEN , he had to watch his father slowly become a deformed creature — one that couldn't be destroyed no matter what. he had to result in taking care of his father alongside his brother ,, who no longer became the caring & supporting crutch to him — instead resulting to verbally abusing & degrading okuyasu as time went on. this resulted in okuyasu becoming dependent on keicho for an answer to every logic - based decision. HIS OWN BROTHER , was someone who told okuyasu that he should leave the decision making to others — he's the primary reason that okuaysu has no faith in himself to make his own decisions , & the reason that okuyasu constantly degrades himself ...

@brobillion -- haha okay this is late but I just found you and read the whole thing don't mind me- it's so nice to find someone that takes okuyasu a bit more seriously,, like, he's such an adorable character but his backstory is so not like him. and keicho was the only person he trusted through all the years and even he died. You could really feel his hurt in the Chilli Pepper arc where he really just went hellbent over Chilli Pepper :< And right after the events with Keicho, he wanted to walk to school with Josuke. It's just so nice how Josuke and Koichi were there with him while he was healing from Keicho. He found someone he could have fun with and just be carefree, ya know?? In the end, we can see him enjoying some nice food from Tonio with his dad and Stray Cat, it just makes me feel so happy for him :D Okuyasu is such a cute boi, I love him so much ^^ ♡

The delinquent wandering the front courtyard of the school around it's fancy water fountain tight before the bell rang. Girls surrounding him as his expression seemed to twitch in anger and a bit of discomfort saying that he ' looked a bit cuter than Josuke' asking him a bunch of questions like where he came from. What school he was in and why he had the bat with him." Back off will ya!?" He hissed at them through gritted teeth. Pushing away from them as his head turned to notice who looked to be another delinquent. Shutting his eyes he let a slight sigh escape him as the group of curious and flustered girls follow him. Since he was only a mere 5'5 he had to look up at him to ask. Yet instead of asking the question to the other delinquent first he turned to the group. Stomping his foot down as a dark angered aura covered him." Don't you all have a class to go to or something..?" His neck craned a bit as his eyes shrunk to dots before they finally took the hint and walked away. Turning back to the guy he wanted to talk to." Jeez..girls are craxy.. names Baddo. Call me Badd. Say what's the name of this town I'm in?"

✧ id. @brobillion ᜰ it didn’t. as i got a closer, i just got a feeling from you, but S.B decided to approach you simply because it wanted to look at you. it does that to people a lot regardless if they are stand users or not. i guess it’s because it’s kinda . . . what’s the word ? sentient ? yeah, that’s it. * that was the best way she could explain it, her hands going into her pockets as she swayed side to side lightly. stardust breaker’s eyes met his, its hands lightly patting at his shoulders as it waited, quiet chirps coming from it as it’s legs kicked back & forth in the air * really ? well, that’s good to know. even if i kept telling it to give you some space, i don’t think it’ll listen. it’s too focused on studying you & all — not to mention it got riled up when you mentioned your own stand. * it was normal at this point for joanne to have to instruct stardust breaker to back off when needed, the being had no idea what personal space was to begin with — it was a bad habit & she knew she would have to work on it with her stand. but maybe it’s curiosity & joy was amplified because joanne herself was even excited to see his stand. she didn’t seem to mind the people giving them glances, it was something she had gotten used to overtime due to the nature & rules that stand users had. suddenly, a bright smile appeared on her face, eyes sparkling with awe as she looked at it * okuyasu, your stand is so cool ! oh wow, i’ve never seen anything like it before — what does it do ? * as the girl asked these questions, it seemed as though her emotions were reflecting onto her own stand. stardust breaker spun around to fully face it, moving away from okuyasu & towards the hand. it blinked once, then twice — before it suddenly threw its arms open & wrapped it around the other being in a tight hug, noises of happiness slipping out of it *

[ ZA HANDO. ] * the call was loud , surely startling any lingering individuals around them. however , the call did summon an individual unseen to unadvanced eyes — a figure floating aside okuyasu ,, slightly taller than the young teen ,, color scheme similar to his. * joanne .. S.B ,, here's my stand — [ THE HAND. ] i'd say that he's happy to meet you both as well !

✧ id. @brobillion ᜰ * she remained silent, waiting for him to figure it out before she nodded, scratching the back of her head with a laugh * yeah ! i’m a stand user ! i didn’t think you’d be able to see S.B. , not like that would have stopped it from still following you, but still ! it just got really excited that you could see it — * the female explained, letting out a small sigh as the stand continued to examine okuyasu, it’s glowing figure illuminating brighter as its name was complimented. the fact he was even talking back to it made it happy, letting out a squeal as it spun around. then suddenly, it froze, the mentioning of another stand making it perk its head up. white eyes widened, quickly nodding its head as it moved closer towards him, practically shaking in anticipation as it waited for him to call out the other being * S.B. ! you gotta give him some space ! * joanne yelled, stopping once she was close enough, but it didn’t seem like it was going to be listening anytime soon * hm ? oh ! no need to be sorry, it’s okay ! my name is joanne, it’s nice to meet you too ! & i’ll say that for both S.B. & me, it’s really happy to meet you — .
