We all have questions we never answer truthfully. One of mine is why do you write? For my entire existence I’ve shrugged and played it off as a hobby. Something you don’t really care about and do because you're bored. The truth is I write for the same reason I read. I find life dull and I dream of escape. When I was little this form of escape was reading. Why would I want to live in reality where instead I could be living with my heroes or training with my legends. I hated when books end because that’s when my reality reforms and drags me toward responsibilities.
Writing has always been special to me because I can feel the joy of creating something. I can create my own world to my specifications and no one can change that. I especially love to write characters. My protagonist is always a reflection of someone who I look up to. I love creating a diverse and detail enriched setting. Picturing my created setting is never dull and can distract me with all the details for hours. I want whoever’s reading this to see it my way.
The best time I find to write is whenever I’m feeling down. It relaxes me to create fictional worlds filled with troubles I with I have and not the troubles of everyday life. That’s my favorite way to write. I love writing about twilight. Some thing that happens right when the sun’s moment is over is forever mysterious. I try to capture that sense of mystery in my writing. I love the theme of avenging a lost love one. There are so many variables you can play with to create a story that captures that sense of mystery.
I want to create a piece of work that is admired. However I don’t want the spotlight that comes with it. I just want to create a world that others can escape to. That is my goal for now.
