            thank   you !!   i've  been  told  it's  a  stressful  trait.    {  oh,  how  she  wants  to  maintain joviality  through  the  hell  that's  about  unfold  around  her.   konnie  knows  better  than  to  believe  that  everything  is  going  to  end  in  sunshine,   rainbows  and  stories  around  ronald  mcdonald's  grave,   but  how  she  longs  that  it  could  be  the  case.    the  concern  of  the  elder  prompts  a  small,  almost  grim  sort  of  smile  to  konnie's  lips,   her  shrug  a  barely  noticeable  gesture.  }    probably  not.    but,   uh,  my  old  man's  all  i  got.    mom's  already  dead,   y'know ? [  astra's color has significantly faded over the years, much like the light behind tina's eyes and the width of her smile. but strings can be changed and function can persist. her calloused fingertips graze over the neck and the blonde lifts her shoulders into a shrug. ]   didn't think we'd all  /be/  back here. [  the ramble that comes from the blonde is almost incessant, practically leaping forward to place her hands on andi's shoulders, shaking them lightly. after a second, tina clears her throat and steps back, hands moving up to awkwardly play with her hair instead. ]    um. fuck, sorry.  [  she clears her throat. ]    i just—- yeah he's a dick but i don't want him to be a dick to YOU now because of me.

— the next thing she knew, she was pinning up  ' MISSING '  posters alongside those of betty ripsom. if tina never crossed paths with henry bowers, if she'd never been so reliant on her sister, then she wouldn't have gone out that night. she wouldn't have gone missing. they would still have each other.
            
            — the events triggered richard taylor's trauma even further, and he got angrier than tina had ever seen him. he blamed tina for his eldest daughter's disappearance  ( stella was always his favorite. )  and when tina dared to fight back by saying he should have never brought them back to derry, that was the first time he struck her. after that, it became a regular coping mechanism for all that pent up anger that only worsened as more kids went missing and tina kept snapping back and sneaking out. her clumsy adventures were a good cover-up excuse for the bruises.
            
            — suddenly, tina only had herself. she made it her mission to keep smiling like nothing was wrong because that's who she always had been. her sister was gone, and tina was left with little more than her guitar and a string of missing children, leading her to explore derry's disgusting sewers with the loser's club. living for the hope of her sister still being alive out there somewhere.

— unable to afford the house they lived in, richard decided to pack up his daughters and take them back to his hometown of derry, maine. the very root of all his problems, but at least it was a familiar hell than a runaway divorce. it was the move that earned richard the affectionate nickname of  ' dick '  from his daughters. they got away with it too !  because it was a real name, of course. they never said it to his face though.
            
            — stella stepped up and took care of tina. they both found it hard to adjust to the town they didn’t choose, but again  ..  they still had each other. stella kept most of her own life quiet, tina didn't fit in well at school, being the  ' new girl '  who was a little too spunky. nobody got her jokes and everyone thought she was a little rude. she made better friends with her guitar  ( the last birthday gift her mom ever gave her )  and endless notebooks scribbled with lyrics.
            
            — toward the end of the '89 school year, tina got in a predicament. she came home, bloodied and bruised courtesy of henry bowers. she went straight to her sister, because they always had each other. estella flipped her shit and stormed off into the night to hunt down bowers and his stupid little clan, despite how much tina protested.
