Hello, my name is Elena Khomutova-Miller, and I live in Chelmsford, where I work as an art curator at a gallery. In addition to my work, I paint, and in the rare moments of free time, I write prose. My first book, The House on Stilts, was entirely self-published and is available on Google Books in Russian. I am currently working on its adaptation into English, as well as writing its sequel.
I'm also working on a collection of short stories called The Women's Wardrobe. This collection is my attempt to explore the nature of women through the lens of magical realism and various cultures, showing both their differences and similarities. Each story features a woman, an artist, and a touch of magic that transcends cultural and temporal boundaries. Countries like Germany, Switzerland, Norway, and Spain are like patches in the quilt of my life, as constant migration has shaped me into someone who sees the world without borders - only rhythm, colour, and music.
My stories reflect my personal perspective on feminism, where emotions and unexpected twists of fate often take centre stage. I draw inspiration from life, art, and culture. Thank you for listening!
