What are some tips for beginning poets

buglightyear

@Charred_CocoaCookie i'm not too good at giving advice, but here are some tips:
-i think it's good to read other people's poetry, for me, it helps get my inspiration flowing
            - if you struggle with starting a poem because you have this idea that it has to be 'perfect', start out small and just pretend like nobody else is ever going to see it
            - a great way to start a poem is to have an image in your mind. this works for both poems about visual things (for example, nature) and for a story you might want to tell (kind of imagining it like a comic or tv show, if that makes sense)
            - sometimes if i'm stuck on starting a poem, i just choose 3 random words and make a poem based on that
            - your poems don't need to rhyme, or have any rhythm to be good
            - last but not least, don't be negative towards yourself, everything takes time!
i hope these tips help, happy writing <3

Howdy! I'm doing a little poetry project where I take 15 words from people and write them into a poem of sorts. Would you be interested?

Can you give me 15 completely random words from the top of your head (like rapid fire without thinking too much on it)? I'll be sure to build something out of it and credit you for the input.
