Everyone was silent in their own thoughts, when a distant engine roared, and the metallic clang of the gates tore through the silence. Everyone turned with hope. Everyone hoped to see Vadehi. But, their heart broke more, their heart started beating faster, their mind started screaming thousands of possibilities in their mind, when they saw an ambulance rolled in.
Time froze for them. What could an ambulance rolling into the house suddenly mean? Was she okay? Was she injured? Or the worst was she…. No one dared to complete their thought. No one could think of this. No one wanted to.
