psa to cisgender ppl who want to write trans characters:
1.) literally no trans person would choose a name even remotely close to their birthname. if someone's birthname is patricia, they are likely not going to choose the name patrick, and vice versa.
2.) do your research beforehand. ask actual trans ppl questions.
3.) don't make the story just about being trans. cis people telling trans people's stories is just shitty.
