i’m sorry i haven’t been active at all, that’s not because i want to disconnect from this community at all like i love you guys. i WILL try to be more active I SWEAR, but i can’t always be online anymore because 1) my tiktok account is fucked i have to make a new one and 2) i live in rural texas. the effects of the trump regime is starting to directly impact me and my family. ICE is a looming presence in my neighborhood. lol (i’m still writing tho!!!!) but i love love love u guys u guys are the bestest

so i’ve been very very inactive, and i have a million reasons for that but zero excuses. i’m so so so so so so sorry. but basically uhhhh i deleted tiktok for phone storage and now it kinda sorta wont let me log back into perfumingly. i WILL get it fixed though, trust!

authoritarian regimes rise and fall on the strength of a single story, or their ideal version of reality portrayed as objective truth. contradicting statements can and has been framed as “false news” or “propaganda.” but you can’t fact check emotion. you can’t turn life stories into intellectual debates. when multiple accounts of the same events exist in writing, no single authority can claim a monopoly on truth. document everything. your experiences matter. your perspective is irreplaceable. history will be written by those who took the time to write it.

i’m SO sorry that my presence online hasn’t been constant, i’ve just been extremely occupied right now with everything going on in my community. that being said, if you’re protesting in america right now, PLEASE BE SMART ABOUT IT. 
          
          cover your face completely with masks, sunglasses, hats, or hoodies to avoid identification in photos or videos. wear completely neutral and plain clothing without any logos or bright colors or distinctive features that could make you memorable. and disable biometric access (like face ID, fingerprint) on your phone so that only a passcode can unlock it.
          
          if detained, remember you have the right to remain silent and request legal representation before answering questions!!!!!!!! never consent to searches of your phone or belongings. avoid discussing personal details like immigration status with law enforcement.
          
          bring protective eyewear. any goggles will help shield against tear gas and pepper spray. absolutely avoid wearing contact lenses PLEASE. they can trap chemical irritants against your eyes. carry a bandana soaked in lemon juice or vinegar to help counteract chemical agents and bring plenty of water for hydration and eye irrigation.
          
          bring basic first aid supplies for yourself and others. avoid carrying anything that could be interpreted as a weapon, even inadvertently. when filming be mindful not to capture other protesters’ faces
