remember that abortion bans won’t just stop abortion.

abortion bans would increase unsafe abortions, increase maternal mortality rates, an increase in rape, women staying with abusers because of financial dependency, increase in female suicides, increase in ACTUAL baby killings, increase in the foster care system, the decrease of woman’s education, decrease in women in power and women in the workforce, increased taxes for child benefits, increased inflation, increased homelessness, and so forth

It’s those that failed to see the bigger picture—THIS being the bigger picture—that absolutely sicken me. This is not right, never has been, never will be, never should be.

watching a rapist become the president of the united states was a slap in the face for rape victims nationwide. stripping women of their body autonomy all in the name of “lower gas prices” shows that theres nothing the world loves more than hating women.

@calamitous_ass and the fact that Kamala is highly qualified and had plans in place but it still wasn't enough. The different expectations of the two candidates is so gross, and further proves are women be undermined at all stages of life. Men voting for him even if his actions would cause them to suffer are also big indicators of pure misogyny.

debated with someone. my argument was basically “the police system is flawed” their counter argument was “that’s a social issue not a systemic issue” guys whaaaaaat (i debate to persuade or be persuaded but it’s different when ur opponent is completely just… lost and completely dodges ur points like im still heated about it LMFAOO)

crierayla

the police are … a systemic power…. how would that not be a systemic issue

i mean it’s both a systemic and social issue but their point was that it wasn’t systemic at all like boy what

hihi

i rarely ever check announcements (completely my bad) but i recently noticed a plethora of gofundmes being spread. i changed calamity from a tragic romance novel to a political fantasy that DIRECTLY MIRROS the challenges of systemic injustice and the urgent need for activism in our society. (barely any systemic justice being portrayed in calamity is made up. the only thing that’s made up is the mordials/primordials. everything else is based on true events that either happened or is happening) its a project i started with passion and concern and most importantly, my impatient and frustration. imagine how hypocritical it would be for me to be passive or disengaged from the exact same issues that fuel my creative work. because to write about activism while neglecting to take tangible action is to contradict the ENTIRE point of my book. call it a cliche but we all truly have a role to play, we all can do something. whether it's contributing to important causes we believe in, sharing initiatives with networks, or just engaging in personal and meaningful conversations about extremely real and inhumane systemic issues

below (IN THE REPLIES because it’ll exceed the character length) is as MANY gofundme links that i can find. (for now) many are derived from @tmrscovenx and @crierayla please go check out their account as well. donate if you have the financial means. if you can’t, spread the word.
