1. absolutely crazy to revisit my wattpad for the first time in more than a decade

          	2. a lot of life has happened, obviously

          	3. wattpad has changed…..so much

          	4. one of the writers i looked up to so much on here, @Sepherene (Kill Yours Darlings, Disequilibrium), posted two years ago talking about the EXACT same thing I myself have gone through: feeling completely drained, exhausted, and beaten down by studying creative writing in undergrad, and subsequently not touching writing for years. YEARS. i don’t consider studying creative writing a mistake, per se, but it was brutal for my creativity and spark in such a specific way. great for my craft—i write better now, i can see it—but terrible for the joy.

          	5. I re-read Smolder and Rekindle recently out of curiosity, and with a more trained and skilled eye, I have the same pull to revise it at some point. Not anytime soon. But I still think it’s fun, and I’m impressed with my teenage self. I can’t believe she did all that. I hope she feels the future her beaming with pride.

          	6. in re-reading those stories though, I realized something.

I NEVER RELEASED THE BRIDGET BACKSTORY NOVEL.

I was like, why do the chapters say draft? didn’t i publish this? apparently i didn’t. so I’m going ahead and publishing it week by week now and not making a single edit. the timestamp says 2016, ten years ago. that’s the version you’ll see, should you choose to read.

          	7. Sepherene also talked about how meaningful it was to go back and see all the nice comments people have left, and the fact that people are still reading her stories. for the few who found my stuff and left such wonderful comments, i don’t think you know how much those mean to me now. then, a lot. now, even more. [thank you ❤️]

          	8. I’m writing again. when i make it to the shelves, you’ll know. because you’re the reason i believed in myself and my crazy dream of being a writer at all. give me a holler if you made it to end of this.

and, forever and always, THANK YOU.

i got half-way into rekindle before realising it was the sequel to smoulder. now i have the difficult decision of either finishing the book or reading smoulder before i finish. i was wondering if you could assist me in my decision making
(by the way your books are splendid)

i'll tell you how it goes in your private messages. if you want to read my thoughts i'll keep you updated. otherwise, you can just ignore me ;)
i've passed part two (so i'm not really half-way through, i'm three quarters) but reading smoulder is still brilliant, somehow your style makes the story still interesting even with the amount of lacey's future i know. i am a reader who loves reading not for the plot, but for the emotions and the way a book is written
            i applaud you

aw thanks so much!!! lol i can't say i've ever had to consult on this before.....if you haven't read past part two, i think i'd be chill to go back and read smolder and then finish out rekindle, but honestly it's all up to you. i'd love to hear how your reading experience goes either way because....yeah, i've never had anyone read out of order and i'm really interested in seeing what it's like!!
