I'm straight too (or maybe bi actually but who cares) and I just like the song because first of all it's beautiful melodically and secondly because I believe that for Louis it is about being gay and I usually feel something in songs when I get the emotion the songwriter was feeling, so for me personally I don't really have to feel the same way.
That's why I love music, it makes me relate to people that I normally wouldn't be able to relate to :)
