Leiah muttered something I did not hear. All of it was drowned out in my head. Ainsley looked like she was about to cry which is an unusual thing.
“We have to go and find somewhere we can stay.” Damien murmured, rising out of his seat. Ainsley shook her head, fury radiating from her. Her voice was sharp as she snapped.

“Every letter, every word is burned into my memory. Every cruel thing is haunting my memory like it haunted hers.” Damien's eyes locked towards the ground as her voice rose.
“Her smile gives me nightmares. I see the hotel burning when I close my eyes and you’re here saying ‘Lets go!’ like everything is fine! But nothing is fine.” Her eyes were red rimmed and teary eyed. I looked towards the horizon as my lungs burned.

“Don’t act like you’re the only one grieving. You’re not. She was my friend too.” He shot back, expression tight.

“Can you both just shut up!” Leiah yelled out, placing herself in between them. “You’re both acting childish! We need to stick together. We are all in this together so please, for Wren."
I looked down at my hands. The skin packed up in bandages. I felt my voice break as I spoke. “I want my sister.”
Ainsley looked at me with regret for saying what she said. “I’m so sorry, Jainie. Bloody hell we are such idiots aren’t we.” she said. A half broken laugh escaped her mouth as she sunk against the wall.
