A primordial yōkai whom had descended from Ryūjin’s court, Kiyoshi is one of the divine guardians beneath Japan’s eastern seas. The creature belonged to an ancient line of sea leviathans tasked with maintaining the balance between storms and tides. Their clan vanished centuries ago, conflict with humanity left their kingdom fractured and forgotten between the ocean floor. Amongst the wrath of humans, Kiyoshi had one of their wings removed, and now they attend Blackwood Concord Academy as the surviving descendant of their bloodline, quietly searching of their home they no longer can find.

Helia is a reclusive exorcist from Eiareum, and the last known inheritor of the ancient, Seimei Monshō.  This is a hereditary script-work technique capable of engraving live Kegare directly into flesh through tattoos which think, move, and remember. Having long severed ties with the Veil Order, he now resides within the shifting thresholds of the Mireveil and reality. Operating a hidden tattoo parlour known as “The Script,” beneath an unremarkable alleyway that appears to spiritually call out to others. Within Eiareum’s underworld, the parlour consists of considered neutral ground exorcists, wanderers, mourns, and even included entities apart of the Mireveil.
