all i’m going to say is it’s a great time to be writing a dissertation for my university on nuclear proliferation and the failure of disarmament

this might be a betrayal of my marvel roots, but i really want to write a batman fic (centered around chris nolan’s trilogy), would anyone read? 

absolutely gutted for all the sane americans who did not want a convicted felon and sexual abuser as president. horrific.

          just wanted to list some fics that i was thinking of updating soon hopefully! 
          
          (these are in no particular order)
          
          1. bird set free — update (game of thrones) 
          2. growing rotten — first chapter / prologue (game of thrones)
          3. unwanted, undesired, unsafe — republished refurbished (harry potter w/ some marauders era bits)
          4. anatomy of a hero — update (mcu)
          5. shadow weaver — regular updated chapters (mcu)
          
          i’m trying to work on some original books (which won’t be published on wp) so bear with me regarding the above updates, they may be less quickly updated than when i started wp in 2017-18 :)

          just a little check in to let you know that i’m not dead, just on a long break !
          
          a lot has been going on in my personal life ; i’m going back to uni soon, i’m moving appartments because the one i’m currently in gave me black mould poisoning which probably led to me getting a lower respiratory tract infection which i’ve been slowly but surely recovering from :)
          
          in terms of fics, i’ve sort of been taking a break from writing new fics for asoiaf. i’ve unpublished a bunch from here that i see no future for / have no motivation or will to write anymore, i’ve only kept 2-3 + some i have in my drafts that i’ll just keep working on in the drafts until i have half the story written, then i’ll maybe publish them. until then, no new asoiaf fics/updates (except potentially maral’s)
          
          the only fics i’ve been working on have been a LOTR series (of maybe 2 or 3 fics) spanning from the silmarillion to the LOTR trilogy
          
          1. silmarillion era, gondolin + fall of gondolin into the rings of power series on amazon (OC is the daughter of aredhel and ëol and the twin sister of maeglin)
          2. LOTR fic (legolas’ little sister x éomer) with flashbacks (or maybe a whole fic idk yet) to legolas x human reader (the hobbit era)
          
          i won’t be publishing anything until october at least, prolonging my break just feels right, but until then, if you want dts for these LOTR fics, just comment here :)

"the targaryens are boring without dragons" EXPLAIN brynden rivers, daemon blackfyre, egg V targaryen, shiera seastar, maekar targaryen, baelor breakspear, daeron II, aerion brightflame, all the blackfyres, aemon the dragonknight, then ?? 

maybe it’s just me but it bothers me a tiny bit that the hotd writers feel the need to cram in a whole prophecy (with daemon’s vision + the prince that was promised) for rhaenyra (+daemon) to believe that this is the reason she should get the iron throne 
          
          bc then it kinda gets forgotten that the whole story is abt a woman being denied her rightful inheritance solely on the basis of her gender and instead becomes this whole story about “making the future right”, “preserving the future of house targaryen” etc. 
          
          and i love prophecies, and loved seeing brynden rivers, a blackfyre rebellion glimpse etc  but i feel like this whole thing with prophecies, and stories etc kind of overtakes the point of the show which is abt a woman being usurped BECAUSE she is a WOMAN. 
          
          and i also sometimes get the impression that the hotd writers include all of this bc 
          1) fan service 
          2) most importantly bc they think that a story based on a woman being denied her inheritance based on her gender isn’t interesting on it’s own (in that case it’s just poor writing) 
          
          the problem isn’t really the whole prophecy (which i’ve enjoyed as i said bc it showed some really cool parts of awoiaf) it’s more when it’s so overwhelmingly present that the OG message of the dance of dragons gets watered down or overtaken by the prophecy 
          
          but maybe that’s just me lol
