Hey there! I know, it’s been a long time. I was already struggling with to put words to paper when the pandemic hit, and I have just been wallowing in non-productivity ever since. But I do want to get City of Bridges rolling again. I’m thinking maybe a Nanowrimo challenge - a month of mini stories, inspired by prompts, and maybe don’t fit into the overall narrative of the serial novel. Anything to get the words flowing again, am I right? Anyway, I hope you’re all doing great! Look for updates soon!

Heeeeeeeeey, Wattpadders! I’m still here, I promise! Though I had the best intentions of hammering out a new chapter of City of Bridges over my holiday break, I ended up being sick for a good portion and no writing happened. I am trying to get back in the swing of things now, so maybe there will be something new soon. I guess it all depends on how my editing side-gig goes (DM if you’re looking for an editor!) and whether or not I figure out how to solve my current problem in my other novel WIP. Well, my biggest problem is that it seems I have forgotten how to write prose...what do you do to help you get back into the narrative flow when you’ve had a break? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks to everyone who has read, commented and voted on City of Bridges and my short story Mirror Witch! I really appreciate the support!

I hope everyone is having a great 2020 so far! Are you keeping your resolutions? <3<3<3

@cartazon try voice recording, that often helps to get back into narrative flow.
Looking forward to read city of bridges.

The next chapter of City of Bridges — The Bull — is published. Barris confronts those who would vilify him and puts everything on the line to defend his reputation, as the Trienelle comes to a dramatic conclusion.

I am so thankful for everyone who has read City of Bridges over the last few months, and those of you who have it saved in your reading lists. This project is a real love child of mine, and it means so much to be able to share it with others. Now that the “fantasy prom” arc is over, I’m going to take a wee break as I focus my attention on the novel (for which COB was originally conceived as a prequel). I don’t know how long a break - inspiration can strike any time, after all - but I promise I’ll be back before long with new adventures for Neda and the boys.

Good luck to everyone participating in NaNoWriMo! I am not (that pace just doesn’t make sense for the stage I’m at right now and the time I have available) but I will be cheering from the sidelines. I’ll still be around Wattpad, and you can always follow me onTwitter - I am very happy to follow other wattpadders and share their work. Check me out at @cartazon.

On the spur of the moment, I decided to toss up a short story that I've had lying around a while. "Mirror Witch" is a short, romantic tale with lots of magic that I hope you'll take a few minutes to enjoy!

The next City of Bridges update will come on Friday, so stay tuned!

Well, well, well...it is almost here! All that remains is a final proofread of this next City of Bridges chapter and then I can post it, hopefully by tomorrow. It's no wonder it took me so long - it is enormous, 2 or 3 times the length of an average COB chapter, with a lot that has to happen. I just haven't decided if I'm going to carve it up into multiple chapters or not. Does anyone have any opinions on that? I know conventional Wattpad wisdom says shorter chapters are maybe better, but I kind of favor a cohesive hole myself. I dunno. Let me know what you think! And stay tuned for an imminent story update!!!!!!

@RosesnWater Thanks for the perspective! I guess that I can post the whole thing, and then if it looks like it's not getting complete reads I can always change it after the fact. Gotta remember this isn't a static medium. And anyway, readers who have stuck it out this far aren't likely to abandon me for one long chapter. I hope!

Honestly, there is no equal alternative for well ended chapters. I think people mostly make the short chapter rule because if you have a chapter where nothing happens then it feels a lot longer, but if the plot is being driven or character arks or action, people don’t mind longer chapters.

Oh, hi there strangers! I promise I haven't abandoned you or City of Bridges. The end of summer just flew by, with some super-important family events taking precedence over just about everything. We all know how that goes, am I right?

But did you see? Did you see the fabulous new cover I just published for City of Bridges? I love it to pieces, and can't recommend @-starless enough if you are looking for covers for your own books. She's great to work with, so accommodating and helpful and talented! I just loving a piece of artwork that so much better shows of the character of my book.

To go along with the new cover, I've rewritten the summary, hopefully making it a bit more interesting for potential readers. While things have never been high-traffic around here, it's been especially laggy the last few months. I know, that happens when you're not updating. Hopefully the new cover and blurb will draw in some new traffic and get me motivated to stay on track with my writing as we launch into fall.

I hope everyone is having a great end-of-summer, and I promise you'll be hearing from me very soon with new content!

Wow, July is just flying by.... I’ve been really busy editing someone else’s novel and had little free time to work on any City of Bridges lately. I’m not a bit sorry about it, either, because I’m getting paid and it’s pretty fun, too. Another week, and I’ll be able to turn my attention to the sketchy beginnings of my “fantasy prom”. Plus, the new cover should be coming real soon. It looks great - can’t wait to see the final version and show it off here! Hope summer is being fantastic for all of you!
