So yesterday I got the good old "you should do a REAL drawing, you know, on paper" and I feel the need to explain why this bothers me so much.
Digital art is just as legitamite as traditional. The only difference is materials. If you were freaking rich and had as big of canvases as you wanted, as many brushes and paints and other tools, you wouldn't be told it isn't real art. Digital art is much cheaper with unlimited resources. I still draw the same as everybody else would, I still use a pencil (or sometimes my fingers, which I also do with real paint), I still have to erase, it still takes effort and time on my phone. I am both a digital artist and traditional. I honestly prefer traditional because I like being hands on. But digital gives me so many more colors and brushes and crap. It's just more resources. I don't understand what the issue is or why people think it isn't as serious.
(Mind you, this isnt a misunderstanding, I asked what she meant and she essentially said digital art is cheating lol)
