  “  charlotte.  im  very  busy.  i  thought  id  be  done  with  my  repairs  by  now  but—  there's  more  wrong  than  i  originally  anticipated.  ”  eyes  shifted  to  her  and  he  tapped  his  screwdriver  against  the  table.  “  sweetheart.  how  about  i  get  you  some  ice  cream?  we  have  some  in  the  freezer  and  you  can  watch  some  cartoons?  if  i  stop  now  i  won't  have  it  done  by  tomorrow.  not  unless  i  stay  up  all  night.  ”

            her feet found movement before her brain could catch up . for the first time in years . she wasn ' t the one looking after everyone . she didn ' t have to wonder what the next move was . when the anger would end . when the next life would be taken . who she ' d give the next bittersweet gift to . the cloud that hovered over her began to fade as she felt herself cut the strings holding her back as she opened her arms and ran straight into his arms the moment he hit his knees . the marionette laid vacant behind her, still curled neatly against it ' s box .

   “  sweet  girl.  im  here.  im  here.  ”  so  many  poor  gaps  in  judgement,  so  many  mistakes.  so  many  things  he  wished  he  could  take  back.  but  most  importantly  of  all  he  wished  he'd  kept  an  eye  on  her.  kept  her  close  instead  of  letting  her  wonder  and  succumb  to  such  a  terrible  fate.  the  guilt  of  it  all  ate  him  alive  every  single  day  and  every  night.  slowly  he  knelt  down,  even  if  his  knees  ached  in  protest.

            the spirit didn ' t know .. what to do . he wasn ' t meant to be here . he wasn ' t — before she even had a chance , thick tears streamed down her face . those dark eyes and white irises scanning a bit as she stared at him . that green bracelet still on her little wrist . just dulled in color now . one step forward , then two . ' daddy .. ' she let out an echoed sob . he shouldn ' t be here . she was so angry .. she was hurting . yet , all she wanted to do ? was hug her dad .

            Callie looked at him, her eyes filled with fear. She couldn’t speak,  "  I… it hurts…  "  she cried out in pain,  stumbling lightly.  Her memories were flooding back like a waterfall.  Her head hurt, her body— what was left of it—  hurt.  She never realized how she smelled of rotten flesh, but it was always masked with a scent built in of sweets…  "  god—  oh god…  " 

  “  that's  what  they  tell  you,  isn't  it?  that's  what  they  want  you  to  think  and  feel.  but  right  now  what  they  told  you  doesn't  matter.  forget  it.  you  weren't  built.  you  were  a  living  breathing  human  just  like  me  and  they  took  that  from  you.  you  weren't  supposed  to  be  there.  but  the  cycle  has  restarted.  i  spent  so  many  years  trying  to  stop  it.  even  my  last  effort  and  attempt  at  self  sacrifice  clearly  wasn't  enough.  you're  my  daughter.  you  had  a  family.  although  your  mother  isn't  with  me  anymore  she  misses  you  terribly  too  im  sure.  ”

            Her eyes flashed on and off, from blue back to the human eyes that still remained. Just with built in lights. She shook her head, "  …I didn’t have a family,  I was built…  "  but it seemed like she was trying to convince herself. It wasn’t real, the flashbacks weren’t real, that’s what the techs told her. She wasn’t organic, she was machine. That’s what they told her. They wouldn’t lie…she sounded like she was in pain — I mean you would be too if you’re subconscious realized you were half the human you used to be.  With stitched skin, and wires running through every organ that used to be there.  How they kept her alive was beyond comprehension for anyone that knew what she really once was.

  “  why  do  you  think  im  here  fixing  everything  up?  it's  still  my  building.  my  project  to  restore  so  it  can  live  up  to  it's  former  glory.  i  don't  have  my  partner  anymore  so  it's  not  going  as  quickly  as  id  like  it  to.  ”

  henry  shifted  his  weight  from  one  foot  to  the  other  as  he  adjusted  his  glasses.  clearing  his  throat  and  abruptly  avoiding  the  question.  “  no  reason  in  particular.  i  have  eyes  am  i  not  allowed  to  use  them?  ”  he  responded,  playful  in  nature  per  usual.

*  NO  FR  —  he  was  never  a  saint  himself  he  wasn't  the  best  father  he  gives  married  to  his  work  and  getting  too  engulfed  in  it  that  he  forgot  about  his  fatherly  responsibility!  he  isn't  a  completely  irredeemable  monster  however  he  isn't  an  angel  he's  kinda  like  in  the  middle.  he  did  try  to  make  it  right  in  the  end  but  only  in  the  end.

            Shows how he isn’t exactly some saint of a person either. He probably wasn’t that great of a father either, maybe tried who knows. But he wasn’t like 100% perfect
