          "The Butterfly Monarch"
          
          The Butterfly Islands have been shut off from outsiders for decades. Shrouded in temperamental mists, the civilized world only knows the islands are home to mesmerizing butterflies and hostile people, the queen as hostile as any. It's puzzling when she invites her trade partners to send a delegate beyond the mist.
          
          George Combs is a botanist, entomologist, and linguist. With his studies behind him, Combs jumps at the chance to research the enigmas of the islands. However, the flora and fauna aren't the only alleged features of the strange world. The islands are said to be home to an ancient civilization. Combs is eager to record the islands' secrets, though he suspects he will have to tread carefully among the natives.
          
          Before he even begins his research, Combs finds one of the biggest anomalies of the islands to be the so-called queen. Her pride contains oceans. Soon Combs comes to terms with the situation: he is a scientist out of his depth, the queen expects the impossible, and the people who sent him are keeping secrets. The more time he spends looking for the facts, the more he finds the mysteries are only beginning.

          "The Red War"
          
          There was a time when the universe was young as a child and just as innocent. That did not last. Corruption crept through the cracks of this world as in all others, and the war began.
          
          Liam Zuberi, newly appointed as one of the captains of the Golden City, hopes to do his father proud. It isn't easy to please the General of the Fifth Family, and Liam has already endured his disappointment for years. This is his opportunity to prove what he can be as a man, as a soldier, and as a son.
          
          Liam quickly finds himself caught up in the center of the war that's been raging since the dawn of time. The world abounds with mysteries bigger than his father's pride. As the Red Dragon works tirelessly to destroy the Golden City, Liam is pulled further and further into the ways of the Golden Lady herself. Aurnia, Aadi, the Daughter of Time, the Queen of Dragons. What interest could she possibly have in him? Or worse, what purpose?

I began a new story by the name of "Quenna." If you like fantasy and adventure based in a medieval-esque era or are just curious to how I write, try it out. Thanks!

Last year to the day, I first published Distinction. Today it is completed. It isn't perfect, but I'm happy with its potential. Thank you to any and all who may read it! Happy 2018!
