            Sorry for that! After re reading your latest explaination I now totally get what you mean and I agree with it 100%. Ofc we do get angry when our arts are treated unfairly but anger will just make anything worse. Thank for calmly explain it for me!

@Phanhishere Let me explain, I’m not saying stealing art is ok at all. I’m saying it’s the reality of being an artist online. Like it or not people will steal art and they do not have to take it down, as in they face no real threat if they don’t. Maybe the artist will be super mad and call them out on twitter but it’s not like they’ll be thrown in jail for it. 
            
            There’s very little us artists can do about art theft. Yes, we can send takedown reports but most often their effectiveness is hit or miss. Honestly, the most effective thing we can do is simply ask the person to take it down, but to treat someone like this and expect that to happen isn’t logical. Most people will immediately write off anyone who approaches them with that much aggression. I’m not saying that’s its fair or right but they just literally don’t have to listen. 
            
            Where as the artist’s initial comment was not super aggressive the moment the theft did not immediately comply the artist snapped. When clearly this theft was ultimately consolable, they did remove the cover. On wattpad especially you’re dealing with mostly kids, you have to explain why what they did is wrong. They’re more likely to listen if you’re level headed about it.

@cateyeindark No matter which fandom you run to people WILL steal your art if it’s good enough. My argument is not that it’s right or that you shouldn’t fight for yourself but that you shouldn’t treat someone like crap and expect them to do favors for you. 
            
            You’re too quick to crack the whip. On wattpad especially most art thefts are kids who have learned stolen art is ok just because it’s so rampant. It’s not their fault when they see it happening everywhere, that’s society’s fault. You have to explain why it’s wrong and politely ask them to remove it. This person ultimately listened to you, they took down the cover, clearly they weren’t unreasonable. You just needed to be more patient, and attacking their character even after they corrected themselves is just unnecessary and mean.
            
            You don’t have to be a saint but they also don’t have to listen to you either.
