Cayuga Capital Management (CCM) was founded in 2007 by Jacob Sacks and James Wiseman, who decided to start a firm focused on practical, long-term real estate development. Based in New York City, the company focuses much of its work on Brooklyn and Texas, handling property acquisitions, development, construction, and ongoing operations. From the outset, the founders have aimed to create projects that fit naturally into communities' day-to-day needs, such as housing, retail, recreation centers, and functional shared spaces.

Over the past decade, CCM has established a significant presence in Brooklyn. The firm has developed more than 350 apartment units and nearly 450,000 square feet of commercial space. These contributions have positioned Cayuga Capital as one of Williamsburg's most prominent commercial developers and a major residential property operator in Bushwick. As both neighborhoods have shifted from older industrial uses toward more blended residential and commercial environments, CCM has had a steady influence through projects that respond to changing local patterns.

A notable example of the firm's approach can be seen in its redevelopment for Vital Climbing Gym, a California-based fitness operator. In 2017, Cayuga Capital acquired a large warehouse at 1 Nassau Avenue, located near McCarren Park at the border of Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The century-old industrial building offered the flexibility needed for adaptive reuse. CCM saw the property as a value-add opportunity and redesigned it to accommodate a specialized fitness tenant. The finished project provided about 46,000 square feet of climbing space, fitness facilities, and shared social areas. In 2023, the building sold for $43.3 million, setting a record at the time as the highest price for a standalone climbing facility. The project highlighted how careful redevelopment of older structures can reveal new market potential.
