it is so funny to me to see people up in arms about boycotting the hp fandom when their whole account was built on hp fanfics. but of course they're actively speaking negatively of the fandom now because it's a trend. as if jk rowling hasn't been a transphobe long before the TV show got announced or got in production. mind you it's the same people who were fighting on the front line for the poc actor who got cast as Snape last year and also the same people who actively had fanfics for harry potter before the show got announced. let's not act holier than thou when you were actively posting about this fandom last year. all of y'all had and still have harry potter fanfics and if not, you're writing for fandoms that are being produced by disney or other platforms that are actively funding thr genocide in Palestine. because if you wanna apply these rules to the hp fandom just because of jk Rowling's harmful opinions, we should also apply this to other fandoms as well.
