I watched as she swing her blade around, each step walking towards her feeling like I was walking on glass. It's felt like this ever since Ace started working with the Shadows. Robynn warned me about catching feelings for her, that Ace didn’t do them and was scared of ‘being owned by someone until she messed up.’ But my own were overwhelming, concern the top of the list.
I took a deep breath, dismissing my thoughts before putting a hand on her shoulder. “And the cut on your hand? Was it bad?” Ace turned to me, a small smirk on her face that meant trouble, her eyes sparking with mischief that was rarely ever contained.
“It was, a little. But you know me, Lincoln. If there was ever blood on my hands, I highly doubt it would’ve been my own.”
