I just got to know something about Ahoi ashtmi a few days ago. My mother told me that ahoi vrat is practised by the mother who have son. A mother who only have daughters cannot keep this fastfor her daughters long life.
          I didn't knew this because we are only two sisters and  still my mother keep this fast, ky grandmother told her to do it and someone elder told her to let my mother keep a fast when my elder sister was born. In my maternal grandparents home, my mami have two daughters so she doesn't keep fast bcoz according to traditions only a boy's life matters right?
          
          Does being a girl really so worthless that every fucking tradition in this world are against us?
          Is having a girl child really so pathetic for some people.
          
          I mean come on we already know about those miscarriages that used to happens when the parents got to know that there is a girl or parents abandoning a few hour old girl child just bcoz she is girl
          
          I am a second girl child to my mother and sometimes people look at my mother with sympathy bcoz she doesn't have a son, we are enough for our parents but according to this society, do ldke chal jayenge pr do ldkiya nahii.how sick this mentality is
          
          Rape crime are so much increasing that our parents are afraid to send us outside, my father calls me every 30 min when i go out with my friends, but are we really safe outside?. The answer is NO. 
          
          The way some boys stare at us, it makes me want to go and hide somewhere, it too uncomfortable, so creepy and disgusting. It makes my heart burst with fear when i see a grp of boys following me everywhere in a mall
          
          I mean not all boys, even i have guy frnds and they are decent they never made me uncomfortable but it's always a boy right?.
          
          This has been happening since ages that this doesn't surprise us anymore. 
          Men cry over those blue drum cases and afraid to marry but we women face domestic voilence, dowry pressure, suicides rapes and  what not and we still get maried bcoz apparently this what we are for!!!

@Meerakunju this is so common. My mother now feels lucky that she have two daughter after knowing how boys abandoned their own mothers. In my family boys don't get special treatment. We have girls more than boys here. My grandfather have two sons and my uncle and father have three daughter and one son combined. My uncle have a son so 
            ,no special treatment for him as he already have two elder sister. My mami started keeping ahoi fast after my nani died to just continue the festival in the home, she didn't used to fast before the death of my nani

@chao_ticsoul20 it's happens every damn time and even my mother kept the fast for her son I'm also facing the discrimination in my family even though I'm more educated salaried but still they all consider my brother as some holy thing happened to them even my mother once told she prayed to God for him and me idk what to say but now I don't give a shit to these things I'm happy on my own and doing the things makes me happy ❤️ and irony is that the same son told her not to wear churidar only to wear sari and he doesn't take her out but I does still she loves him more than me and consider him as something pure happened to her
