my god, why does everyone keep saying that it’s so impressive to have lived through that experience?    [  the words are mumbled to herself more than they are to the other while she shifted her weight, a rather annoyed look on her features. she did not know the fae woman long, only asked questions, but she seemed sweet—- someone skye would love to get to know more, have a friendship with. unfortunately, she did not think to even ask the woman’s name so she had no idea how that would work. that, and every time those words are said, she’s reminded that she’s not even human herself.  ]    what would be in it’s place then? as.. annoying as it is, that’s still erasing something they believe in. i would like to slowly entice the change, not shove it down their throats and force them to swallow it.

It's not that challenging to remove that thought from their minds.

i know enough, thanks to a really nice fae lady.    [  her words were quiet as she crossed her arms over her chest and shifted her weight onto one leg.  ]    whatever it is that you’re thinking of doing to my parents, the answer is no.    [  she did not know how well this would go, how well he would take the news, but she didn’t care. it was her parents they were talking about, no matter how infuriating and over-bearing they were.  ]    if changing them is your brilliant solution to my problem, i think i’ll pass.

            * he wasn't even going to be that long. five minutes was an awfully long time for a vampire. but instead he gave her a reassuring smile * Promise I won't even be that long. I'll just have a quick look around, make sure it's not just some local kids getting up to whatever sort of mischief they might have found.

[  her fingertips anxiously tapped against her bicep, her lips pulled into a thin line.  ]    if you’re not back in five minutes, i’m going on a hunt for you.    [  the words are soft but stern at the same time, clearly not enjoying this in the slightest.  ]

            * that was what he would have called a drastic understatement. Mystic Falls had to be the most interesting place he had ever been and it wasn't to say he wasn't well travelled * I'm not going to get injured. Look, it's not going to be anything serious. Just, stay put please. That's all I'm asking.

[  she waved her hand dismissively before she shut the door behind him, going to return to her spot on the couch before he showed up.  ]    yeah, no problem. up the stairs and first door on the right.    [  she grabbed the magazine she’d been flipping through while the television played, her favorite background noise when she couldn’t use her phone.  ]    okay.

[  she seemed confused for a moment but let out a sigh, extending her arm out as an extra measure.  ]    you’re more than welcome to come in, nikolay. and sure, i have time for whatever you need to explain.    [  in a way, she already knew what he was going to explain—- a weird sense that she couldn’t really explain.  ]

[  she took the glass and began sipping on the water, her free arm still hugging her knees close.  ]    no, no doctors. there’s too many sick people, that might end up being.. very bad for me.

            * he was out of the building again as soon as humanly possible, not wanting to raise too much suspicion by moving too fast. the glass of water was in his hand and as he approached the girl, he crouched down beside her, holding the glass out * Here. I'm not sure if this is going to help. You look like you need to see a doctor, or something.

[  skye let out a slow breath, her hands moving to her head. she’d been through so much worse than this, but it still screwed with her nonetheless. but now it was a waiting game as she slid down the wall, sitting with her back against the bricks and her knees hugged to her chest.  ]

            Not really. I just happen to know a few of the people that are currently terrorising it. * he rather wish he didn't, but there was very little he could do about that. though strangling his niece and shaking some damn sense into her didn't seem like a bad place to start * Alright than, let's go get rid of this thing.

 ⠀⠀ i am not the type to save someone just to try and kill them.    [  she was hardly the person to try and kill someone unless there was an honest reason for it, even then it was sometimes difficult unless they tried to kill her first.  ]    you have no argument from me, you certainly seem to know this town better than i do.

            Yeah well, I'm sure you've heard of Katherine Pierce, Klaus Mikaelson and the rest of those. I have every single reason not to be very trusting. Generally people are trying to kill you or get you killed. And I am really getting too old for this. But no, we can't bury it, not if it is as bad as you say. There are some people in this town that wouldn't hesitate to get their grubby hands on it. We're just going to have to take it with us and head out into the woods.
