Hello friends! Things have been very exciting in my real-world life, and as such I've been away for a good long time from writing. It's starting to chafe!! I hope to be back with any of my three main characters -- Ronan, Gideon, and of course, Aidan (who is always up for a scene) very soon! Thank you for reading and voting -- it means so much! Cheers from NY!

The Irishman is a beautiful story. I do note that the structure of the story is under development. It runs smoothly through the Jamaica scenes becomes scattered in the middle - scattered time sequence and sometimes confusing beyond just suspense and flashbacks- and then returns to a traditional time sequence at the end which runs elaborately to the conclusion. The beginning intro is fine. The middle is where you may want to focus your editing on. Remains an all time favorite of mine!

I thoroughly enjoy your feedback, and I agree!! Thank you so much for re-reading — I hope to polish it and release it this year!!

I reread the Irishman after 2 years. Still Great. Do you have any more on the Northman?

charlie686

Unfortunately I have not... I am probably a bit undisciplined in that I go where inspiration leads me, rather than forcing a story to develop! I hope to get back to North once I get more of Scot underway. He's been very patient with me so far, now it's time to get to figuring out his story! :D

Hi!!! Yes!!! I have not been writing more than a few paragraphs at a time (second book is infinitely harder!) but I have fingers crossed to have something moving before the first of the year!! It’s good to see you

So after taking almost a year away from #TheIrishman manuscript, I am happy to revisit it with fresh eyes. Working on cleaning up the intro and the end (for example, I stole chapter two and will either work it into the rest of the story or leave it out). Beta readers have all been favorable about leaving the first chapter in place -- I am looking at you, @fioregarden :) -- so we shall see.

It's been long enough -- it might be time to option it out to some publishers. I'll be sure to report back as to my rejection letters!! :)

          Cheers, all!

charlie686

You got it!! @fioregarden... It's mostly been removing entire chapters ;)

Moving slowly through the rest -- I will keep you posted!! Thank you as always for your help & support ❤️

So as you may have seen, after a terribly long summer ;), I have emerged with some new stories with NaNo in the titles... these are going to be my contribution to National Novel Writing Month... aka NaNoWriMo. My daily word goal is 1,667 in order to achieve 50,000 words by November 30. Not sure I'll be able to make it, but I'll give it an honest try!

Some things to note -- the pieces I write are, unfortunately, out of order and typically at the whim of the characters and their respective inspirations. As such, the pieces may come across VERY sketchy and incomplete... unfortunately this is part of my creative process. I realize not every writer develops this way, but it is, however, my means and so far, if the feedback to #TheIrishman is any indication, things have gone fair to middlin'! Feel free to ask questions and feedback... I read them all and appreciate the dialogue! Cheers to all and happy NaNoWriMo!
