Can we talk about how wattpad is turning into a paid program.

I'm writing a book and I have a question. When writing about a character with gay parents (the book I'm writing the mc has two dads) how do I address them in the book. In my drafts I wrote it as: 
          "You baby her too much" dad 1 said 
          My second dad scoffed and folded his arms defensively. 
          
          You get the picture, it kinda sounds wrong and I don't think any fourteen year old would think that way. 
          Help!
