Hi everyone,
I know it's been a very long time since I was active on my account. Eleven years, to be exact. I imagine many of you have moved on to new authors and creative writing spaces. But I wanted to reach out one more time and see if any of you would like to read a new (edited) version of New Beginnings and Sinful Treats?
I created this story when I was 20, and it was the summer before I started back to university. I'd transferred to a new school in South Carolina after starting out at a local community college in my hometown. I had few friends at this time, so to fill my time, I decided to take my first crack at actually posting a story I had stuck in my head.
But as many of you who have read this story have noticed, grammar and spelling were not my strong suit at this time. Yet, many of you were patient and receptive to the characters I'd created. My goal in creating this story was to highlight interracial love. When I was growing up, there were very few interracial romance novels available to me. I identify as Afro Latina as I am Puerto Rican, Polish, and Black. I am proud of my identity and having the ability to see the multicultural/interracial romance genre grow. Thus, I'd like to throw my hat back into the ring and potentially revisit a project and dream that was pushed to the side.
As I continue to dream of seeing more diversity and inclusion within the romance genre. I hope some of you will revisit this story as I begin re-uploading new versions of New Beginnings and Sinful Treats. Feel free to drop a comment below or as you read. All constructive feedback is encouraged.
Much love,
Rachelle L. Gandy-Torres
