@PoisonEmbers ┊͙ but the thing is. it’s NOT okay even if it’s fictional. lgbt people have barely any rep. robin and will are the ONLY confirmed gay characters in stranger things. the others have not been confirmed. it’s not okay AT ALL. it’s homophobic behaviour. if you can’t write a robin buckley x fem!oc then DONT write for her at all. i wanna write a steve x male oc? yeah i CAN do that. straight people do NOT need rep. 

@cherriswft honestly I was thinking about this the other day and because it’s fictional characters, I think it’s okay as long as they make the respective love interests bisexual. At least acknowledging that they love the same gender and are still lgbt+.
            Still though, the amount of straight Alec Lightwood fics I’ve seen irks me. His identity as a gay man is a huge part of his character in the series (at least the tv show) as he struggles with being in love with Jace, and then his love story with Magnus. Now to be fair u haven’t read any of these aforementioned Alec Lightwood fics, so I don’t know if the respective authors have erased that aspect of him completely…
