Pleasantly surprised Astro Bot won game of the year. Such a curveball from what I expected, but I’ll take it.
Also BALATRO SWEEP!!!1! Won 3 awards, and had one of the best orchestra moments at the end of the ceremony.
I know last time I talked about GOTY here previously, things got REALLY heated, but what are your thoughts?

Kinda meh all around for me, I didn’t know half of the GOTY contenders existed and I was really only hyped when I saw Witcher 4 pop up. Also, just as a prediction, that new Naughty dog game that was hyped up at the end is going to be bad.

@dangal_ 100% agree that other contenders would’ve been much preferred to be nominated than others. Balatro being nominated for me personally feels pretty deserved, but I get why others think otherwise. For me, better nominees for GOTY should’ve taken the place of the FF7 remake remake, and the Elden Ring DLC (even though it’s absolutely amazing). Nominations like these I personally feel like go against the idea of being “game of the year” when they’re either a remake of a previous title, or an expansion of one.
