Book Analysis: No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai
Age when I read this book: minor jusme
• likes:
- how the story was told, very nice kaayo kay it started from an author/manga-maker (???) discovering a diary of a man named Yozo Oba then proceeds to describe what he became over the years through the provided snapshots of Yozo Oba.
- first person siya from Prologue to Epilogue
- relatable in the sense of kanang feeling like you’re unfit in society because of anxiety and fear of disappointing people
- depicts being scolded by anyone as even harsher than death and WOULD DO ANYTHING PARA LANG DI MA SCOLDED is so real
- how unique it was like its not everyday you hear about someone commiting suicide 2-3 times??? And managing to survive gihapon which then leads to mc’s mindset na di gyud siya human kay he can’t die like damn
- his first love :((( and him crying over it and getting scarred for life
- THIS IS A SEMI-AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL BOOK
