I saw this somewhere and I am contemplating abt how true this is. People pray to a saint and marvel at a martyr because they are not the ones who get bloody tortured or die. I sometimes wonder how the families of those people must feel. I mean it must be gut-wrenching or maybe not because not all families are nice. Anyway, this is what the person had written:

Is it worth it to sacrifice one person for the benefit of many? If you say yes, chances are you’re not the one being sacrificed. But it seems the people are willing to recognize that for some things a huge price needs to be paid — *as long as someone else pays that price and they get to look the other way*, justifying to themselves that someone needs to pay it after all.

I need more people to watch 'When I fly towards you'. I love all the books Zhu Yi has written but this one along with 'Hidden love' has a special place in my heart. There is another one of her books that is becoming a series called 'First Frost'. It will come out next year.

Our existence is meaningful to someone. Don't easily dismiss yourself. For some people, you are their ultimate solution. A magical remedy that can cure everything. They will like this world more because of you.

This is definitely one of my fav quotes from Zhu Yi's books. When I fly towards you was srsly the best of her work. It's not gut wrenching neither is it heart pounding. It's simple, a slice of life drama but it's so much more that it engrosses your whole being. It gives you significant lessons of life and of how much small things matter in life. It's simply breathtaking and beautiful, all at once.

I will never get over how people blame Tessa for things she shouldn't be accounted for. Lol, She left when her children had children and she might have checked upon them because we never got any other story from her pov.

Thanks, dude! I am from India. Lol, I know that much. I hope that I do well in programming too. I wanted to go out of the country, and my father wanted me to study in Germany but my mum still treats me like a baby and thinks that I should finish college here and I can do my masters abroad. As I said, I love traveling and it would be a great opportunity to explore more. Anyway, enough about me, how are you doing? Last, I knew you were into psychology. How is it going? Have you thought abt what you wanna do?

'We hunt the flame' is exactly how you write enemies to lovers. It gives me a Dance of Thieves vibe and I love that book to the moon and back. I honestly picked it for the same reason but it turned out good and different. All in all, I love this book.
P.s. - This book has a really pretty cover lol and I appreciate good art.

I forgot to tell everyone that you all NEED to read 'The Shepherd King duology' especially If you are a YA gothic fantasy fan like me. Also, If you hate The Cruel Prince but love the idea of changing a Kingdom and its way. If you love a ship between a prince who considers himself rotten(but he is def good and waaaaaaay better than Cardan) and a girl who believes in the goodness of heart then you will LOVE Elm and Ione. Overall, it was a nice read.
It was a bit like Vespertine and a watered-down version of The exorcist since it was a YA fantasy. The characterization, word building, banters, and play out were nice enough but the best part was how tidily tethered everything was and I loved the barter. How it tells and proves that you have to pay a price for everything. I especially loved Elm and Ione. Elspeth and Ravyn were the best but Elm was my favorite boy as you can see how I swooned and drooled a bit.

Can someone tell me why ANYONE would like The Cruel Prince and even say that's better than The Infernal Devices? Like, it's seriously not and I am not kidding. There are so many scenes that are questionable like when they poisoned her and she was stripped down to nothing and then humiliated, There is also her thinking how good Locke is when all he does is stay silent when his friends bully her and it makes me FEEL how dumb she is. Then there is also the part where she asks Cardan why he hates her so much and the abuse is so quickly dismissed like it was nothing coz he hated her because he was in love with her. I mean bffr, you are not a kid, and abusing someone just because you love them is NOT justified. He is not bullying his crush, he is literally trying to hurt her and even If that wasn't the intention, it happened more than half the time. Only the last 70 pages were bearable coz the plan was nicely executed but that was the only thing and the book is 270 pages long, I felt like It was never going to end.

chocolatepies101

@taketheavocado Hey, you changed the cover. Don't hate me but I loved the last one better.

@taketheavocado Finally someone of sane mind. I don't even get how people are comparing this shit of a book to 'The Infernal Devices' like my baby Jem is the most precious and perfect guy ever and Will comes close second while people may argue Will is the best but I still stand by my words. And gosh the love triangle is literally THE BEST!! I can't believe three people who love each other so much. It's not a triangle if two out of three don't like each other and people often consider this a love triangle but it's not. The way Tessa loved Will and the way she loved Jem is the same, she loved them both so much and people think that she loved Will more but that's mostly coz they didn't read Jem's sequel and also the fact that we don't get much light on their relationship.

@chocolatepies101 no you're so real for this--I somehow managed to finish the series and hated every second of it. Was really not for me and honestly I thought the plot got really lazy after the first half of the first book (which also happens to be when the romance picks up and also when everything Cardan has done to her is just....not addressed?)
