LORE ....
as a child, there was already odd signs of may having some sort of illness. despite being young and eating and exercising well, he seemed to always be mildly fatigued or would easily dislocate a joint. examples of this are trying to open a highlighter in elementary school and ending up with a dislocated shoulder, tripping once and having a dislocated ankle, etc.
in elementary school, he wasn't "popular" or "cool," he was more so one of the weird kids. he didn't do much, but when he did he was somehow the best at it. academics? top of his grade.
in late school, may's health declined. he couldn't get up without fainting and had severe fatigue most days. this caused him not to be able to attend a public school for a while as doctors tried figuring out what was wrong with him. after about two years, he was diagnosed with POTS, and a few months after that diagnosed with EDS.
during the time he was out of school, he got himself into art and music, having found an old bass in the garage that belonged to his mother.
in early high school, may would start attending public school once more, going for the full day. this proved detrimental to his grades and his ability to function, but so far nothing could be done about it.
throughout the rest of high school, he managed to continue getting good grades and excelling. he applied to an art school in the middle of senior year and was eventually accepted.
