Chuck Scott started in the military at a very young age, an era that was to shape the rest of his life. Qualifying as a Canadian Forces parachutist at 18, he went on to become an infantry skills and field-craft instructor. As a civilian he spent ten years as a professional scuba instructor, and five seasons as a remote access wildfire suppression specialist, including a stint as a smokejumper (Parachute delivered firefighter). Well-traveled throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America, he fell in love with the Amazon Rainforest. From 1990 until 2003 he led photographic expeditions into some of the most remote corners of that vast area, and also attempted to establish an Outward Bound School in Brazil. His specialty was accessing the high forest canopy with climbing ropes. Chuck now runs Wild Tours International ltd offering tours of Canada's west coast and beyond.
