(  @wiltedschools  )⠀⠀☥⠀⠀well, no. but──⠀[elliott hadn't thought that far, if he were being honest. he takes comfort in this being a hypothetical, though. nothing detrimental will come of it, thank the lord.]⠀he's like, crazy smart. as long as he's not making important decisions while drunk, i don't really care what he does in his free-time.

            Lin wrinkles his nose at the other's answer, the question clearly having been asked out of boredom due to his own homework having been completed. "But he's an irresponsible drunk, is he not? Would you really want someone like that in charge?" 

(  @wiltedschools  )⠀⠀☥⠀⠀oh, geez, that's tough. uhm . . .⠀[elliott takes a minute to think about it──really think about it──his biology notes long forgotten, pen resting slack between his limp fingers.]⠀kinda stereotypical, but probably rick from rick and morty. he's like, insanely smart, from what i remember. i feel like he'd have some pretty good ideas.

            He shrugs, angling his head downwards to hide the bashful smile on his lips. "I'm still not quite sure what I can and can't say."

            Linden shakes his head. "I am (not) a murderer. Accidental plant deaths don't count either, Mister Dalton."

            Linden's gaze breaks from the other boy and falls upon the aforementioned plant. Elliot wss right, in a way; maybe if they had met at some other point in life, the notebook in his lap woukd be full of ridiculous plant-baby names to eagerly share with his roommate⸺but they aren't at that point. "Well, you're wrong." 

iD. @wiltedschools⠀✦⠀[elliott's arm falls away from his eyes, and he glances over, a lazy grin curving his lips at the sheer confusion plastered upon the other's face. he shrugs softly and props himself up on his elbows, smile never once faltering.]⠀i dunno. just kinda seems like something you'd do.

            He looks up from his notebook, hand stilling as he stares at the other with furrowed brows. "Why would I name it? It's not a pet, it's a (plant)." It's more rhetorical than anything as his skeptical gaze persists.

            Elliot's right⸺that's quite literally the reason the school was even created⸺but something about Elliot is still... different. Something about his presence draws Linden in and makes him want to turn Eli into the centerpiece of his metaphorical gallery, all senses honed in on this one boy to track his every move, remember his every word. The gravitational pull Elliot Dalton has on him is the peculiar thing, but there's no way in Hell he'd ever admit such a thing. 
            
            His eyes remain loosely aimed at his textbook, not registering a damn thing on the page beyond the faint outlines of diagrams as he attempts to focus on anything but Elliot. "Again:  you're different. Nothing bad about that." 

iD. @wiltedschools⠀✦⠀[elliott feels his heart begin to pound under the other's keen observation, and he quickly glances away, eyes darting around in an attempt to focus on something, anything, other than the way he's essentially being scrutinized, like an animal in an enclosure. he's not used to it──being the center of attention, being the only one someone focuses on. and it makes him uneasy. he doesn't know whether to be flattered or anxious. he's quiet for a few moments, gaze lingering, before he glances down toward his lap once more, reopening his book and absently skimming the page he left off on.]⠀.. aren't we all? i mean, that's why we're here, is it not?

            His gaze on the other is much more curious than judgmental or harsh, his own homework set aside to watch — no, admire — the other. It's the most physically relaxed he's been in what feels like days, in his element of just... observing, as odd as it seems. 
            
            He clears his throat, reaching for his textbook that was tossed aside. "Odd, strange, unusual⸺but not in a bad way, I mean. You're just— [..] (different)."

            Linden keeps his gaze locked on his own textbook, as if focusing on anything but the rising burn of his ears will make it vanish any quicker. He attempts to keep his composure, as if Elliot's words are merely an annoyance or frustration rather than a form of embarrassment. "Well, I don't agree." 

iD. @wiltedschools⠀✦⠀you're no fun.⠀:(⠀[eli pouts, before glancing back down toward his former preoccupation of copying notes from his textbook. he's quiet for a moment, then──as if desperate to prove a point──he continues, mumbling softly, almost playfully, like he's stating something as obvious as the weather.]⠀i think it suits you.
