Lately, I’ve been pretty busy deep-diving into fanfiction and writing my own. I’ve been on this very quiet journey of creating ridiculously overpowered characters who still struggle in completely different ways, and honestly, there’s something incredibly satisfying about it.
I think I’ve realized that I really love powerful main characters. Not because I want them to win everything or never face consequences, but because I hate the feeling of reading a story where the main character is constantly being beaten down simply because they aren’t strong enough to do anything about it.
There’s something much more satisfying about watching a character who could do something, but still has things to learn. Maybe their strength doesn’t solve the problem. Maybe they have to grow emotionally, figure themselves out, learn restraint, or approach things differently. They can still struggle without ever feeling completely helpless.
And I think that’s a big part of what Continuity, Echo, and Eternity have become for me. They’re all very different stories, but they share that idea in their own ways.
Continuity and Echo are My Hero fanfictions, while Eternity is my Winx Club fanfiction. Apparently, my current creative outlet is giving my characters entirely too much power and then finding increasingly creative ways to make them struggle anyway.
