          "It was, in the words of the tabloids, the biblical "End Days". Millennial madness was rampant everywhere. In popular culture it had degenerated into the dominance of appropriation, sampling and irony, and the belief that the only innovation could come from the reconstitution of the past. In the Middle East, futureshock was taken to its logical extreme through the retreat into puritanical fundamentalism. Meanwhile, Asia was awash with apocalyptic cults who thought that since the world was about to end, they could indulge in a bit of mass murder and mayhem in the meantime. And in mainstream North America you had the pinhead nostalgia of the revivals movement.
          
          Secret agent Cassius Croon had worked for the FBI, CIA, MI6 (now INTCEN), and when China privatized its security agency, he would probably serve for them too! He was, C3PO-like, fluent in more than 100 forms of communication, including Bahasa Indonesia, Korean, Pirate Hakka, and Cantonese street slang. If anyone could cut to the chase of the millennial madness and bottomline it, it would have to be him!!!"

Introducing Cassius Croon, secret agent for the CIA (& numerous other agencies), polyglot, & Dreamwalker. Croon is assigned the case of the disappearing wild gorillas of central Africa:

Like most of the stories in "First Contact", this one was written in the 1990s , 1996 in fact. Deeply stoned at a friend's house, I conceived this tale imagining Michael Jackson's 50th birthday party. Little did I expect that the celebrated King of Pop would actually die from a drug overdose some 12 years later, just after his 50th birthday party. In my fictional universe, Jackson turns into an alien, and disappears wearing Bilbo Baggins' ring. One could imagine that in other universes (other branes) he is still alive, and performing concert tours. There is an infinite number of possibilities out there in the Multiverse!

Is the Bäbel in this story the same Bäbel Thorgarten who can smash glass with her voice and establishes a colony in lower Earth orbit in later episodes, or is she just another bimbo? You never really know in the MultiVerse!
