Do you ever read your old writing and realize how cringy you used to be? I’m about to rewrite all my stories and actually finish them because I can’t stand half the stuff I wrote 5 years ago.

I'm really tempted to see if us authors would get along as well as Cole and Connor haha :P

OKAY, so chapter 12 of Epitome of an Underdog may actually be happening. The problem with this chapter is its so emotionally charged, I have to find the perfect balance as well as the perfect point for things to begin to heighten. I don't want to rush this as its incredibly important to Cole's development as a character. (Although 4 months to write one chapter is a little much.) But once I'm over this hump its smooth sailing for a while. Cole's story is no where near finished. We're barely half way through. Stick with me please. <3

Chapter 5 of Run is written. I also have chapter 12 of Epitome of an Underdog written. Both will be posted by this weekend. Just some editing to be done. :)

It's been a pretty crazy month haha. Hopefully I'll find some time tomorrow to be more active. How was your summer? It's been forever since we've talked!

Just wanted to say I read your post of one of the community boards about showing vs telling. As a new writer I found it really helpful and will try and use your suggestions to improve my writing. Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us. :)

            I do mentor + critique.

I have started a post about creating more meaningful characters, however with your added suggestion I might make it a part two. Also if you have any more questions about dialogue let me know. I can always add parts. Really I'm just making blog posts about general questions & how I usually approach subjects. Whenever I come across common questions I try to address those as well. So if you have any more suggestions please let me know, even if I've written about the subject. Thank you for checking out the blog. :D

@CoffeeNcigarettes I have a tumblr so that suits me well :D
Thank you for for sharing your knowledge with all of us. Do you ever offer any one on one mentoring or book critiques for aspiring or new writers? I understand you must be super busy though but I just thought I'd ask.

As far as content on you blog goes I was going to suggest a post about dialogue as that's what I'm struggling with the most right now.. But I see you already have covered that subject ha ha.

Another thing I would love to read about would be about adding depth to a character to create empathy and emotion in the reader without being melodramatic. I want to be able to write a character that gets readers invested personally. I know when I read a great book, and I'm basically on the edge of my seat cheering the character on or crying with them, and it's those moments I know that the author has some mad skills. If I could instill even just a touch of that in my characters I would be so happy :)

I don't know if that's a subject you would be interested in covering but I think it's something a lot of people would be interested in hearing your opinions of :)

@JemmaRyan3 No problem, I'm so glad it could be of help! Its a tumblr blog, and it's pretty new so there aren't too many posts (its literally 1 and a half). I do have a wordpress and other accounts, so depending on what you use I can provide other links. Heres the tumblr blog:
