@colorful_music hello dear abigail, thanks for the kind comment. yes the first scene is a flash forward actually. i realized it causes a bit of confusion, it happened a year after the conversation with grandma. and it'll come up in later chapters. :)

@michellezdong  I love your book! It's refreshing to find a memoir of someone's journey about finding themselves & traveling to exotic places. You're description about China has given a new look to the vast country. I only have one question,  the first scene in the book was that a flashback to an event that will happen later on in the coming chapters?
