“if you want me to be, i can be. really, i’m fine with doing whatever you need, kocho.” kanao called shinobu by her last name as a sign of respect, but also due to the fact she had no idea if she was even allowed to refer to the hashira as her first name. despite having been adopted by her and kanae kocho, it felt foreign to refer to her as shinobu. “ah, alright. sorry about that anyways, it’s probably awkward for you..since i’m your adopted sister and tsugoku.” she chuckled quietly.

“really? well, if it’s anything at all feel free to let me know, kocho.” kanao told her, tilting her head as she watched shinobu clear away things. at the insect hashira’s words, she stood up again. “oh, sorry..i just felt it was right to do so. after all, i’m your tsugoku.” she looked away sheepishly. she turned on her heel to go follow the hashira, humming softly.

“of course..if you need anything else, just ask.” kanao mumbled quietly. she immediately noticed that the hashira seemed quite surprise at the thought of sparring, but at her response she smiled softly, although she tried not to make it too noticeable. “really? thank you, shinobu-san.” kanao bowed, closing her eyes for a few seconds.

kanao simply just nodded, turning to the .. surprising pile of many different types of scrolls, in her opinion. when she heard shinobu speak again, she began looking through the scrolls to find the teal-tied one. after noticing the scroll, she quickly grabbed it and then passed it to the hashira. when the noticed that shinobu had spoken to her, she sheepishly looked away. “i want to spar. to get better.” she admitted.
