well a lot of people say ‘give the people what they want’ but that’s really not true. write what you want bc you want to. now if you’re writing simply for views, go ahead and cater to the public. get a beta reader if you can (a friend who’s good at proofreading/editing or someone who offers editing services for cheap). try not to be too cliche. i love reading stories that are almost completely unique. you can really see the writer in their writing and that’s amazing to read. speaking of which, let your writer’s voice come through. you want the reader to come across one of your stories and go ‘hey i know who wrote this! this sounds like they wrote this!’ take constructive criticism with an open mind. there will be haters out there; ignore them. but there will also be people who genuinely want to help. listen to those people. even if it’s something you’ve heard before, it’s always good to hear it again, especially if they’re trying to help. it can feel good to know that there are people out there who want to see you become an even better writer. let me know if you have any more questions!! happy writing!
