mhm.   [ her hands slipped up to fix her hair,  finally processing that miguel was really here.  the compulsive need to be perfect kicked in,  but she put it on the back burner for a moment to close the distance between them,  stop miguel in the foyer with a kiss. ]   /most/ of them.

[  he grins a little,  there’s a slight airy quality to his voice—  probably because he ran there..  but it’s not like he was going to tell her that.  ]   and i will have you know,  not all of my decisions are spontaneous.  just most of them. 

as most of your decisions are.    [ she stares at him some more before stepping aside to let him into her apartment, ]    did you have a plan in mind or did you just need to see me /so/ desperately,  angel?

@loveIorn   alright.  [  he drops it,  this time at least.  he places a hand on her shoulder and gives it a light squeeze.  he leave it there for a second too long before retracting it.  ]  hey,  you should probably call it a day,  you know?  get some rest and all that. 

i'm just tired,  i guess.   [ lark turns back to him,  smiling small.  she reaches up to cup his face,  the affection soft and sweet -- but painfully brief.  like it was nothing,  she let her hand fall back to her side,  disappear behind her back. ]   nothing you need to worry about,  sanchez.  but you're sweet for asking.  thank you.

mhm,  a date.  [ it was maybe a bit cruel to dangle something like this over his head,  but as lovebird,  love was basically her greatest weapon...  or,  well,  whatever it was between them that resembled love.  very strong,  very /vague/ affection,  lark told herself -- although she did like the way he stared,  how genuinely excited he seemed to be. ]    we could go to a nice restaurant.  or,  if you're /really/ good,  then maybe i could make you dinner back at mine.  you could come over...  /stay/ over.    [ she smiled,  then,  innocently,  perfectly,  beautifully, ]    if you know what i mean.

@loveIorn   a /date/?  [  he stares with wide eyes,  in a mix of surprise and disbelief for a mere moment before he schools his face back to its usual state.  ]  you really do make it tempting..  i might as well just pull my head in now. 

[ lark rolls her eyes gently.  under the meeting-room table she reaches for his hand,  taking it in hers and giving it a gentle squeeze. ]    i'm serious.  it's a date -- /if/ you pull your head in.
