This is still my favorite genshin fanfic and has a special place in my heart. I remember literally reading this everyday so much that if you asked me what happened to a specific chapter i would be able to instantly answer you.
@Praxidike_descender I still remember waiting for the weekly updates omg. I think I started reading around the inzuma chapters release? Been so long and look at where we are now <3. It's still one of the top fics ever for me. At some point I forgot what is CANON canon and what's Tota only canon (tried searching for leiptr edits while sleep deprived then became surprised when none showed up) , whoopsies. Also the time when there were no chapters for months were fun as hell. The amount of headcanons and theories we had posted here was just *chefs kiss*
@Praxidike_descender TOP TIER FANFIC EVER, WOULD CONTINUE READING THIS EVEN LIFE GET SERIOUS, Back in 2020 when genshin was released, I already fell in love with it and wanted to play it someday but I didn't have portable device I could play with, and only stick into watching you tubers playing it and then I move into reading Fanfiction and I found TOTA . TOTA really encourages me more to play genshin since I wanted to experience what the MC is really seeing.
@Praxidike_descender I wasn't really there during that era since I'm fairly new BUT I AGREE THAT THIS IS MY FAVORITE FANFIC EVER I usually don't reread fics but this one in particular had me reread it about four times (and still counting) already<33 I love the MC I love the OCs I love the character development I don't even care about romance anymore the author can make a fic of just those OCs alone and I won't even hesitate before clicking on it<3

I can't be the only one wondering what kind of stories Rhinedotter was telling about mc right?? Aside from khemia stuff, just what kind of stuff did she lament for dorian to also hate our guts? I don't think a "Oh too bad my old cowerker died, she would've absolutely mastered (insert alchemy thing) if she were here now" Could spark that much hatred in someone. But it could also be because it was Rhinedotter that said it that made him hate mc by extension.

@latyllyn I definitely have been thinking about this, and I agree it's probably not just lamenting about how mc isn't around to keep pushing the bounds of alchemy with her. But I think she defiantly compared Dorian to mc and only in ways he was worse, in like a "she would have understood this by now" and "she mastered this in an hour and you're barely able to get to step one" kinda way. Like comparing your kid to a neighbors kid who's hitting milestones way quicker kind of way, it would be one of the explanations for the resentment in my opinion
