With the rise of AI, I get a little nervous when I see small signs of its use in online writing, especially on Wattpad. ChatGPT uses an elongated dash, similar to '-' on the keyboard of my laptop. But it looks like this — instead. I've never used one on a regular keyboard and never noticed them before ChatGPT. Has anyone else noticed this or am I being paranoid?
@LadyChronicle I'm not aware of any specific ones since I guess there will always be exceptions? Some may argue their writing looks robotic, not meaning a robot actually wrote it lol. As PenumbraMine mentioned, probably metadata is a stronger identifier
@PenumbraMine very interesting! I suppose assumptions are unfair as I know a lot of people import their work into Wattpad, as opposed to actually writing in it from scratch. I also recently read that AI images used on accounts are exclusion criteria for Wattpad Creators- not sure if that includes profile pictures as well. Using it on actual story covers, or chapter media is probably not advisable, since they don't really like people even using copyrighted songs/media/content due to paywalling issues etc.
@cosmicgh0st I guess time and learning will tell. Does it have certain characteristics that shows its AI, like when you get a genuine apology and can tell it apart from a corporate apology?
@cosmicgh0st well, it would certainly stop any envious readers/wirters from claiming someone's work is AI generated without proof. I guess for now we don't have to worry about anything too much.

Your story premise is gripping! The mix of mystery, danger, and supernatural elements sounds intense, especially with a pessimistic vampire like Cole. What inspired you to write this, and how deep does the mystery go?
This sounds like a thrilling, dark mystery with so many layers! The mix of a serial killer, family secrets, and a vampire with a troubled past definitely sets the stage for some intense drama. I’m really curious about how Arielle and Cole’s relationship will evolve as they uncover the truth. What inspired you to combine these supernatural elements with a suspenseful crime story?
Saw you were also trending in "creepy" today and wanted to connect. Looking for other writers on wattpad to support each other 'cause it can be tough to be an aspiring writer! I'll check out your work, hope you'll consider reading what I've got so far with "Octagon."
Peace!

@cosmicgh0st This is my first novel. I have worked professionally as a playwright but I'm switching over because the theatre grind is tiring and I'm sick of the people.
@KRHauthor hi thanks for reaching out. It's been a while since I've read something here. I've checked out your first chapter and gosh, Old Sam had me freaked out for a minute lol. How long have you been writing?
